Gabriella Martin’s work interprets landscape through feeling and memory. Working primarily with traditional oil paints, she employs abstract painting concepts — color and line, rhythm and simplicity — to convey her ideas and perceptions.
Gabriella attended Bard College, where she wrote her undergraduate thesis on late 19th century landscape painting. She has also studied at the National Academy Museum & School and the Provincetown Art Association and Museum. In Provincetown, she deepened her appreciation of abstract painting, as she became familiar with the works of Hans Hofmann and his students.
Gabriella has shown her work at the Harmony Collective Artist Gallery, River Gallery School of Art, and the Centre Congregational Church. She lives in Brattleboro with her daughter Allegra, and husband Teddy.
